Founder/President – Ehren
Ehren works in a warehouse by day, and learns by night. He found an interest in the paranormal at a very young age. Throughout his life he has witnessed many unexplained activities. The most drastic experiences were seeing apparitions, hearing loud and un-nerving sounds, and witnessing inanimate objects moved by unseen forces.
“I was tired of trying to contact investigational groups and looking for information off of the internet,” Ehren says. “All I really wanted was to meet other people with an interest and to learn from them.”
In founding the Edmonton Paranormal Society, Ehren has found a large group of people who have an interest in all things unexplained.
“Each member brings something new and exciting to the table,” he continues. “In our first major meeting I had learned more in three hours than I had in the last three years. I never quite understood the scope and depth of this topic. The word ‘paranormal’ relates to events or theories that are unexplained or out of the ordinary. It can mean anything really; whether it deals with ghosts, lucid dreaming, psychic abilities, or even quantum physics. I am sincerely looking forward to expanding the group and making it a place that is comfortable, non-judgemental, and a learning experience for all who attend.”
Co-Founder – Julia
Julia grew up with a strict religious background and as she got older she began question her faith in the organization. She met Ehren in high school and took an interest in his curiosity. Eventually she began to do research and quickly found her own interests in the topic. She is really interested in lucid dreaming, ghosts, and animal abilities, although she doesn’t like to limit her interests to a specific topic.
“I’ve always had a weird connection with animals, I seem to know what they are thinking,” she explains. “I think that there is more to understanding them. It may be based off of being able to read the energy that they project. Once I started to learn more about other topics of the paranormal, my interest was spiked and I needed to learn more.”
Julia works as a dog groomer, naturally because of her interest with animals. She loves to be surrounded by them and has a unique bond with each one. From fish to horses she has an astounding amount of pets and she feels that each one has their own personality and their own sensitivity.
“They may be able to help us understand more about the paranormal,” she continues, “things that we as humans might not be able to comprehend due to conditioning. Her main goal is to help establish the group, and continue learning until the day that all of her questions are answered.”
