Paranormal: Anything that lies outside the range of normal experiences or scientific explanation. Ie. Ghosts, Unidentified Flying Objects, Demons, etc.
Ghost: Any non-physical force that affects the physical or psychological without obvious scientific explanation. They are also known as a spirit, an entity, a presence, among other titles.
Inhuman: An entity that seems to have cognitive awareness but has never been in the physical form. These include demons, angels, guardians, and many mythological creatures.
Human: An entity that seems to have cognitive awareness and allegedly is a human being who has passed away.
Residual: An event, memory, or energy that has apparently been stored in a location. This type of activity has no consciousness and does not react to stimuli or actions of those around it. An example of this may be the sound of a cupboard door slamming, but no cupboard door has been physically moved.
Psychic: A person who claims to have extrasensory perception. This may include; but arent limited to, seeing the future, mediumistic abilities such as seeing or hearing ghosts, or being able to feel others emotions.
Empath: A person who claims to be able to sense or feel another person or entities emotions.
Clairvoyant: A person who claims to be able to see ghosts.
Clairaudient: A person who claims to be able to hear ghosts.
Channeling: The act of allowing a spirit to use ones physical body to communicate with the living.
Medium: A person who claims to have multiple psychic abilities that can be used for communication purposes with entities. For example, a medium may be able to see and hear spirits therefore can be a used as a tool when collecting information regarding the entity or opening a 2 way channel of communication.

Poltergeist: The actual definition is noisy ghost. This type of activity is one where there is extreme amounts of activity but is caused by the energy given off by a living individual. Usually, the activity is centered on people who are dealing with large amounts of stress or hormonal changes. Most commonly, this type of activity is caused by young girls who are going through puberty, pregnant women, or people who have large amounts of anger.
EVP: (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) When a voice or noise is recorded onto a digital or analog audio recording device. Often,
EVPs are not heard by the people present and are later heard when reviewing the recorded material.
Class A EVP: When the recorded voice (EVP) is answering a question or the response is directly related to the living people present during the recording, the activity, the location, or is informative. Also the recording is free from interference and is easily understood.
EMF (Electromagnetic Field): Is the physical field that surrounds electrically charged objects. Humans, Animals, Plants, and Electronics all produce electricity which is expelled into the environment around them. EMF is measured in gauss or milligauss and in high saturation can cause disorientation, hysteria, depression, disillusion, confusion, physical ailments, and feelings of paranoia, feelings of being watched, hairs being raised, shivers, anxiety, and much more. Popular theory is that ghosts; like other objects, give off electric current which can be measured using gauss meters.
Infrared: Part of the electromagnetic spectrum that falls outside that of human sight. Cameras equipped with infrared bulbs and sensors are capable of recording in low to no light situations. This is also called night-vision, night-shot, and IR.
Thermal Imaging: (Thermography) Is the ability to produce photographs or video by recording infrared radiation produced by an object or being. The infrared radiation is the heat that the object is producing or reflecting.
Non-Contact Thermometer: Similar to the thermal imaging, is the ability to detect the temperature of an object or being by measuring the infrared radiation produced. *Note, they do not measure air temperature unless attached with an appropriate probe, they measure surface temperature.*
